Since we both were contributing authors to the online eBook about leadership – it only stand to reason that my favorite movie about project management is the 1949 classic, “12:00 High” with Gregory Peck, Hugh Marlowe, Gary Merrill, Millard Mitchell and Dean Jagger. Gregory Peck’s Character is Army Air Corp, General Frank Savage who relieves the commanding officer of a WWII B17 squadron (the 918th Bomb Group) that believes that bad luck has caused high casualty rates (then he takes command). His belief is that it is not a result of bad luck, but a failure in leadership. The project is to turn the squadron around and make them one team, one unit where the primary thought is “this group, this group, this group.” This movie is the best ever in situational leadership and is still used today in both military and civilian leadership training classes.

Hi Gregg, how are you? I meant to get back to you at the time. Thank you for your comment. And yes this sounds like the kind of movie I would like, and it’s a great choice for this theme of movies about PM. I’d be glad to have your comment up on the Linkedin Post if you wanted to put it up there so people would see it. I’ve recently had more people viewing this post, so now would be a good time to revisit the post, and you’ll see a few comments there. I’ll send you a Linkedin invitation, and if you’d like to Linkin, or post your comment, or both, that would be great. Best, Jeff
