#5 In New Series: Final Advice To PMP Test-Takers Before Jan. 2021. “Are You Studying The ECO?”

PMI provides a VERY valuable document for PMP Candidates: the PMP Exam Content Outline (ECO).

On Pages 5 – 10 of the ECO, the “Tasks” Project Managers are expected to know for the test are broken out by domain.  For example, as part of CLOSING (Domain 5 on page 10), here is the first task listed:
Closing – Task 1: Obtain final acceptance of the project deliverables from relevant stakeholders in order to confirm that project scope and deliverables were achieved.
Also very helpful is the list of CROSS-CUTTING SKILLs on Pages 11-12. These are skills which are used in more than one Domain, such as Active Listening and Emotional Intelligence. All are good to know for the test. Studying this short document, and making sure you understand each “Task” (Pages 5 – 13) and where it fits in the 49 PMBOK Processes, will be very helpful toward your test prep.
